Cutting to size
Once the cuts have come from the design department, which, depending on the product, may consist of up to 60 or even more individual parts, cardboard stencils are produced, which are used for cutting to size. This involves several layers of material being laid on top of one another and cut to size according to the template using bandknife machines.
Other possibilities for cutting to size are punching and manual cutting using scissors.

In the case of long-pile plush, the cutting is done by hand, since otherwise the long "hair" of the plush will be also be cut off and flowing styles will no longer be achievable.
Cutting by hand is very intricate and time-consuming since every individual part must first be drawn on the reverse of the plush.

The cutting is then carried out using electric scissors.

In the case of larger quantities and/or difficult shapes the cutting is often carried out using a punching tool and large cutting press.
